The Baba Who Claimed He Could Recharge Phones With Blessings

“Yeh phone dead tha. Maine ashirwad diya, ab full charge hai.” (This phone was dead. I blessed it ,now it’s fully charged.)

India never disappoints when it comes to bizarre stories, and this one might just be the most electrifying of them all.

A self-proclaimed “spiritual guru” from Madhya Pradesh went viral for claiming he could recharge mobile phones using blessings. Yes, you read that right, not electricity, not power banks, but pure divine energy.

The video began circulating on local WhatsApp groups before exploding across social media. In it, the baba wearing a saffron robe and holding a trident confidently declares:

“Yeh phone dead tha. Maine ashirwad diya, ab full charge hai.”

(This phone was dead. I blessed it ,now it’s fully charged.)

A few curious devotees handed over their phones, and the baba began chanting mantras, gently tapping each device on his forehead. After a dramatic pause, he announced,

“Ab battery full. Vishwas rakho.”

(Battery full now. Have faith.)

The crowd clapped. Someone even checked their phone, pretending the battery had indeed increased.

Within hours, “Recharge Baba” became a meme sensation across India.

 The Internet Strikes Back

Soon, meme pages were flooded with jokes:

  • “My phone: 2%. Baba: Chal, bless kar dete hain.”
  • “Powerbank companies: crying in corner.”
  • “Imagine BSNL hiring him as their new network booster.”

But not everyone was laughing.

A few locals exposed the truth that the baba had allegedly been charging ₹50 per “recharge blessing,” convincing villagers that his divine power could fix phones, TVs, and even broken chargers.

Authorities eventually intervened after his video reached national media. When questioned, he said calmly,

“Mujhe logon ka vishwas badhana tha. Bijli toh sarkar nahi deti, maine ashirwad diya.”

(I only wanted to restore people’s faith. The government doesn’t give electricity — I gave blessings.)

 The Real Shock

Turns out, the baba was once an electrician’s assistant before turning to “spiritual work.”

He clearly remembered how to fix a wire and how to fix faith even better.

He was later fined for misleading people, but by then, #RechargeBaba had already become a household name with fan edits, remix reels, and even merch.

 The Masala Mix Take

Some people charge phones.

Some charge money.

But only in India, can you find a man who charges faith literally.

Between the power cuts, data plans, and divine drama Recharge Baba reminded us that sometimes, belief travels faster than electricity.
